It has been a good week so far. My teeth are healing pretty well from my wisdom teeth which I am really thankful for and I have gone back to work for a few days which is always good. Speaking of work I would like to introduce you to two people I have spent the hunk of my summer with... This is debrah and she is from England and has told me a lot about her beautiful country! and this is tony! If you ever have a opportunity to work in the physical plant with either of these people do it because it is pretty great. Tomorrow is my last day of work and its such a crazy feeling that essentially I am taking a 5 month leave basically and leaving these wonderful people without a top notch secretary! ha Just kidding, but seriously.. :) But anyways I have been trying and am continueing to fill up my time with my family like crazy and throwing some solid friend time in there too, along with a mixture of the two. I am so glad everyone likes each other, it makes things so much easier. :) Anyways I am really tired so I will just leave you with some pictures from the week.
While looking for a lost puppy me and gabby stumbled upon this treasure. A pretty wind-chime welcomed us We were so hopeful to go inside, but alas we got there right after they closed 2nd day in a row biking! This time we went from OB to PB and back and we didn't need a ride! :) the trusty steed. Lunch in Ob before the great ride the best part of the meal. dad gave me the red one after much persuading.. he is so jovial. :)
Today I woke up and went to Starbucks with Erin and my mom, it was so nice to just sit outside and enjoy some coffee with some beautiful ladies. A little but later we loaded my bike in the car and me and my mom and dad and my brother Danny went to lunch in OB where we met up with miss Gabriella. We enjoyed a nice lunch together and got ice cream after. After lunch me and gabby broke out our bikes and went for a nice ride to OB from PB...Again I think our inexperience of bike riding on streets showed just a tiny bit.. but we made it to PB and back with no serious injuries to us, or our bikes, or anyone else. Thank God. :) After our little bike adventure we make it back to ob and as we are driving away I see a sad little pup with a collar all by itself. Me being the animal activist I am pull over and try to coax the dog towards me, he was not having it, he bolted off as soon as I opened my door and I was so sad. This man saw what I was trying to do and gave me and gabby some cat food and rope to try and catch the pup. We searched and searched but he was long gone so hopefully he found his home... On this search of goodwill we stumbled upon a amazing secret garden which we hope to return to someday! After we left I met up with Erin and Liz and went to flood. It was really good tonight and Matt talked about the Kingdom of God and it was so full of hope and assurance. After that I was feeling really tired from the days adventures so me and Erin and Liz grabbed burritos from Santana's and we ate them and I came straight home. I don't even know why I am still up seeing as how I am so tired. But anyways, I like this whole writing my day out thing, it is kind of nice. Good practice for Europe! woop.
I was listening to Blowin' in the Wind today by Bob Dylan and my mom says to me,"you know, that was the first song I learned on guitar!" So in a dedication to my wonderful momma here it is for you listening enjoyment..
Today was such a breath of fresh air, literally. I got to sleep in which was mighty nice and then I loaded up my bike in bella (my car) and drove to Point Loma. I went over to Gabby's and we decided to ride our bikes down to OB. Funny thing about our bikes is that we don't know how to use our gears so needless to say we were quite comical on the hills. We rode (more like BOMBED) down to my brother's house and he isnt there so we bike aorund OB and then head to Apogee to get gabby's nose ring changed. It looks really cute by the way! (she changed her stud for a little ring). After we left we decided there was no way we could get back up the point loma hill so we called a few good samaritans until a wonderful man named jeremiah rescued us and drove us to get our cars. (we had valid excuses.. promise! : > ] )After I left Gabby's I drove to point loma and just watched the water for a bit and listened to Simon and Garfunkel mixed with worship music. It was incredibly nice. After I left I went to Starbucks and just hung out there for a while until it was time to meet my mom and dad at church and bring my mom her favorite drink. After I dropped it off I was just planning on going home and waiting for erin...( eeeek :) ) but they talked me into staying for the service and it was hard but I was happy I did in the end. We talked about Proverbs and how there is 31 chapters which makes it a perfect monthly book not to mention a great one. After I left church I went to this delicious sushi place called Banbu Sushi! The highlight of going there though was the fact that I met ERIN there. For those of you who don't know erin she is one of the greatest people in the entire world. She will be an RA in nease this year and her girls are soo lucky to have her. So me and erin enjoyed a few rolls and some delicious Udon shrimp tempura soup and it was literally like a party in our tummies. After we were full and done we came back to my house and watched a movie called "Fired Up". If you are looking for a good laugh and a general WTheck response I would definitely watch this movie. My dad came home half way through and even he giggled a few times. Me and erin enjoyed some of my leftover pudding from the last few days of teeth torture and it was wonderful. Now we are watching "Can You Duet" on the couch with my mom and dad and erin and it was a good night. I hope you all are doing well. Europe t-minus 12 days.. soo crazy. Love Always In Him, Dana Elizabeth Riley
ps. this is just for kicks and giggles (recommended by Erin)
The countdown continues.. I am learning that everyday is an adventure and as me and my mom's new bracelets states "Embrace the Journey". That is what I'm going to do. The next couple weeks are going to be full of friends and family and happiness and remembrance. Today I saw 500 days of summer with my best friend Tera and from a artistic view I would highly recommend it. The music was absolute perfection and I really enjoyed the mixed media it Incorporated. There were a few french songs that made me weak at the knees and the main character is dare I say "dreamy". Not to mention I am in love with the female lead "summer" 's hair. :) The movie itself is really interesting and almost a breath of fresh air from the regular typical summer love blockbuster. I think I will be getting the soundtrack for sure. Anyways, I thought I would leave you with this little snippet because of the song and the general cinematography is beautiful. Love always in Him, Dana Elizabeth Riley
PS. I am so excited because I bought tickets to The Flaming Lips in London and I will be going with a few of the most amazing people I know. We are suppose to be dressed up as either Santa or a zombie so I think I may go for a mixture of the two? The place it is in looks like a castle! I am so excited.. thats all.. :)
